10 frame analysis

The first frame is an establishing shot of the main characters house. The mis en scene shows a one story suburban American house with a silver car in the center of the shot. This shot is used to represent the typical middle class working house hold of many Americans. It is also used to contrast the second frame which exaggerates the themes within each one.
This frame is the opposite end of the spectrum to the last one, it shows the very upper class house of a wealthy family and an expensive car outside. The weather is also much sunnier in this shot compared to the first one which is more gloomy and dark. This has the effect of amplifying the attractiveness of the house in the second fame. This shot is also an establishing shot to set the scene and give the viewer an understanding of the type of lifestyle the character has.
The next frame shows the inside of the first house which is the characters bedroom. The mis en scene is made up of normal items any kid would have in their room such as a lamp, bed, desk etc. The room is dimly lit and the boy is seen to be sleeping on the right side of the room.
Frame 4 shows close up shot of the boys face from a birds-eye angle to show all the details within the shot. the boy is also seen to be holding a stuffed toy which is used to represent how he is still a child.
Frame 5 once again shows the contrast shot of the previous one. the shot is setup the same, with a high angle shot looking down on the boy in bed as he sleeps. However this shot has much warmer lighting  giving an overall more happy and positive feel when compared with the darker, colder one before. This boy also does not have a teddy bear and has much more adult bed sheets showing that he is more grown up and maybe mature than the other boy.
Frame 6 shows a medium, straight on shot of a girl walking into frame and towards the boys bed. her clothes are silky gold which fits in with the color pallet of the room very well. This is done to create a perfect or almost dream like aesthetic to the shot which enhances the idea of luxury that is being portrayed in this boys life.Frame 7 shows a medium, side on shot of the girl leaning over the boy and kissing him while he sleeps to keep building on this idealistic lifestyle.
Frame 8 shows the other boy being woke up by sister with a mean flick to the face. This is used to contrast the other boys morning which builds the idea of his disadvantaged life. The shot is also a side on medium shot because it is used to mirror the other shot.
Frame 9 shows the boy waking up and looking at his alarm clock. The shot is a close up but focused on the clock not his face so that the viewer can read the time. The color palette is once again darker to give a sense of verisimilitude because real life dose not have a gold hue all the time
Frame 10 shows the boy in his kitchen making breakfast for himself from a straight on medium shot. He is in the center of the frame and moving across to the right side. The fact that he is making his own breakfast shows that he does not have everything done for him like the other boy does. once again the shot is just contrasting the two lifestyles of the boys and highlighting their differences
